Azazel's word is his bond, a contract once made is unbreakable no matter the offers made unless such a deal were to lead to him staining his own honor beyond a point of acceptance.
Azazel tends to use his overwhelming height as a Viera to his advantage, fighting with more merciless power than most of his species are capable of putting forth. This leads to a sort of arrogance on the battlefield that can be checked and most likely earn his respect rather than his ire.
Azazel's sense of honor should not be mistaken as a code of 'good' since Azazel's morality lies somewhere within the gray, and with him there may be no black or white to a scenario.
Azazel failed when it comes to magic, possessing very little ability in the field he only ever became capable of a single ability - this caused him to massively gear himself into physical weaponry

I don't know what you had in mind, but here we stand on opposing sides.

Azazel was born in the jungles of Golmore, under the name Loken, later earning the attachment of Rehw-Gilda. As Loken Rehw-Gilda aged, he progressively grew larger and larger than his fellows... And felt an intense need for battle. Not so much a need for the blood, but the exertion of a fight that could make him wager his life was not going to be found in his small village, further infecting Loken Rehw-Gilda with wanderlust.This powerful combination put the massive and magicless viera on the path to leaving not long after these passions awoke.
Putting aside his given Rehw-Gilda name, he put a new name to himself and thus Azazel was born.It wouldn't take long for his nomadic wanderings to lead him to battle, bandits, warfronts with the imperials - little did it matter for any enemy he could come across he would surely fight until he was rendered unconscious or won.This won the respect of his fellow mercenaries and soldiers alike with the dedication to the fight - and garnered the attention of dedicated individuals who had sought a fourth and thus was born the Four Horsemen mercenaries, the name placed upon them by their use of horses to ride into combat where so many had found much different modes of transportation in this day and age.As the war with the Garlean Empire petered out into smaller battlefronts the four separated, and thus Azazel The Red Hare of War found himself alone and left to wander for years...These many years would lead to Ishgard, where Azazel got comfortable with the cold despite his jungle born body, eventually finding steady work for noble houses that didn't mind hiring an outsider for dirty work.When word began to spread of a new land, Azazel began his wanderings anew - in search of his fellow horsemen, or at least others to fight alongside as he seeks to journey forth and discover what else the world had to offer.
